Monday, June 17, 2019, Pastor Frank Julian traveled to the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences on the Wayne State University campus to meet with the incoming and outgoing Student pharmacist FAWN E-boards along with their advisor, Dr. Randy Commissaris. It was a very exciting meeting as the old board had been very active, the new board appeared to be possibly even more so!
Some of the things that were proposed for the new year would be to continue with their soup fund drive, and they also had plans to show the FAWN based movie, Forbidden on November 29 the Friday before World AIDS day.
There are also plans to continue to work with at World Medical Relief as well as their Vista Maria outreach They also planned to expand their FAWN/WMR information table exhibit at the February 2020 Michigan Pharmacists Association Annual Winter Meeting at the Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit from one day to two days.
There were also plans to be involved with the other pharmacy classes at the school, ie the P1 class with the P2 and P3 by reaching out to them to increase interest in FAWN. .Finally, they want to increase the current once a year seminar was given by Pharmacist and FAWN Board of Trustee, Dr. Frankie Julian Jr to two seminars a year, one in the fall and then another one in the spring. In summary, a very exciting agenda is being set by this incoming FAWN Student Board. for the upcoming academic year.
