On Saturday, July 6, 2019, during the 4th of July holiday weekend, nine volunteers went to World Medical Relief (WMR) with the mission of loading liquid nutrition products into containers for shipment early next week.
Volunteers from St John Armenian Church (SJAC) included Lisa Mardigian (Church Youth Director) along with SJAC Church Youth, Tigran Terterian, Kevork Mardoyan, Raffi Oknayan, and Armen Oknayan. Kazar Terterian (SJAC Men’s Society and Parish Council Member) was there as was the event coordinator Edith Baise (Women’s Guild). To round things off were Edith’s son, Nick Baise, and grandson, the youngest volunteer, 11-year-old Carter Baise.
These liquid nutrition products are gathered by FAWN (Fighting AIDS with Nutrition) and shipped by its partner, WMR to victims of AIDS as well as other catastrophic diseases and situations around the world. The two shipments completed that day will go to Tunisia and also for badly needed humanitarian relief for war-torn Yemen.
